Experiential and Career Guidance Activity for Grade 12 Students at the Historical and Cultural Relic Site of Chu Văn An Temple and Côn Sơn Pagoda (Hải Phòng)

With the aim of connecting historical and cultural values with present-day life, broadening knowledge and nurturing essential life skills for students, Nguyen Tat Thanh Lower and Upper Secondary School organised an experiential learning trip for Grade 12 students to the Temple of Teacher Chu Văn An and the Côn Sơn - Kiếp Bạc relic complex (Hải Phòng) on Sunday, 11 October 2026. Alongside the journey of exploring national history and culture, students also attended the skills training programme “Responding to Dangers in Cyberspace”, which aimed to equip them with knowledge of how to prevent and combat online abuse, gradually building a solid foundation for their journey to adulthood.

The first stop of the journey was the Temple of Teacher Chu Văn An, where Grade 12 students listened to the story of the life, career and noble character of this exemplary teacher in the nation’s history. In the sacred space, the School’s teachers and students reverently offered incense in memory of Teacher Chu Văn An to express their deep gratitude. The ceremony not only helped to nurture the tradition of respecting teachers and valuing education, but was also an occasion for Grade 12 teachers and students to send their good wishes for a peaceful and successful school year.

During the visit, the calligraphy-requesting activity also left many meaningful impressions, conveying hopes for a smooth new school year filled with achievements. The experiences at Chu Văn An Temple not only helped students broaden their understanding of the nation’s tradition of love for learning, but also helped to nurture their gratitude and their awareness of preserving and promoting fine cultural values.

Continuing the experiential programme, Grade 12 students took part in the skills training programme “Responding to Dangers in Cyberspace”. Here, students were introduced to practical knowledge on preventing and combating child abuse in the online environment. Through the presentations and guidance of officers from the Cybersecurity and High-Tech Crime Prevention Division (PA05), students learnt about the forms of online abuse, while also learning how to recognise common signs of fraud and equipping themselves with appropriate preventive measures.

In addition, the real-life scenarios presented helped students practise analysing and choosing how to respond to risks in cyberspace, as well as recognising the signs of psychological manipulation, so that they can stay alert and proactively protect themselves from negative influences.

Continuing the journey, Grade 12 students visited the temple of the cultural luminary Nguyễn Trãi and Côn Sơn Pagoda. At the temple, students listened to an account of the life and career of Nguyễn Trãi – a national hero, an outstanding statesman and man of culture, and a founding meritorious official of the Later Lê dynasty. In the solemn space of the temple, Grade 12 teachers, parents and students reverently offered incense in memory of the nation’s World Cultural Celebrity.
