A memorable study exchange at Raffles Institution - Singapore’s most prestigious school
Từ ngày 05 đến ngày 12/5/2025, trong khuôn khổ chương trình giao lưu thường niên giữa Trường THCS và THPT Nguyễn Tất Thành (NTT) và Raffles Institution (RI) – ngôi trường danh tiếng hàng đầu Singapore, đoàn học sinh và giáo viên của trường NTT gồm 18 học sinh và 2 giáo viên đã có chuyến thăm, học tập và trải nghiệm văn hóa tại quốc đảo sư tử. Chuyến đi là cơ hội quý báu để các em học sinh tiếp cận nền giáo dục tiên tiến, giao lưu quốc tế, quảng bá bản sắc văn hóa Việt Nam và góp phần thắt chặt tình hữu nghị giữa hai nhà trường.
From May 5th to May 12th, 2025, as part of the annual exchange program between Nguyen Tat Thanh Secondary and High School (NTT) and Raffles Institution (RI), one of Singapore’s top prestigious schools, a group of 18 students and 2 teachers from NTT visited Singapore to study and experience its culture. This trip provided a valuable opportunity for the students to gain exposure to a leading education system, engage in international cultural exchange, showcase Vietnamese heritage, and help strengthen the friendship between the two schools.

Hòa nhập và học tập tại Raffles Institution (Adapting to life and studies at Raffles Institution)
Ngay từ những ngày đầu đặt chân tới Singapore, học sinh trường NTT đã nhanh chóng hòa nhập với môi trường học tập năng động, hiện đại tại Raffles Institution. Tại đây, các em được trực tiếp tham gia vào những tiết học thú vị cùng học sinh bản địa, từ đó nâng cao khả năng tiếng Anh, phát triển tư duy phản biện và làm việc nhóm trong môi trường quốc tế.
From the moment they arrived in Singapore, NTT students quickly settled into the vibrant and modern learning environment at Raffles Institution. They took part in exciting classes with local students, which boosted their English proficiency, strengthened their critical thinking, and fostered teamwork skills within an international community.

Đặc biệt, trong thời gian ở Singapore, đoàn học sinh NTT còn có cơ hội gặp gỡ các cựu học sinh của trường, những học sinh từng xuất sắc nhận được học bổng của Raffles năm ngoái - hiện đang theo học tại Raffles: Lê Khả Nguyên An, Nguyễn Tuấn Dũng và Phùng Cao Khánh Nam – những gương mặt tiêu biểu thể hiện tinh thần nỗ lực không ngừng, là niềm tự hào của mái trường mang tên Bác.
During their stay in Singapore, the NTT students also had the chance to meet some of their school’s alumni who received prestigious scholarships to Raffles last year and are now studying there: Lê Khả Nguyên An, Nguyễn Tuấn Dũng, and Phùng Cao Khánh Nam. These outstanding young individuals embody a spirit of relentless effort and are a great source of pride for their school named after Uncle Ho.

Một trong những điểm nhấn ấn tượng của chuyến đi là sự kiện Open House của Raffles Institution diễn ra vào ngày 10/5. Trong không gian sôi động và cởi mở, học sinh Nguyễn Tất Thành không chỉ được tìm hiểu về cơ sở vật chất, hoạt động ngoại khóa và tinh thần học thuật của trường bạn mà còn tích cực giới thiệu văn hóa Việt Nam thông qua các đặc sản như mít sấy, bánh đậu xanh, cùng trò chơi dân gian như nhảy dây, ô ăn quan…
A standout moment of the trip was the Open House at Raffles Institution on May 10th. In a vibrant and friendly setting, Nguyen Tat Thanh students had the chance to discover the school’s facilities, extracurricular programs, and academic culture, while also actively sharing Vietnamese culture through local treats like dried jackfruit and green bean cakes, along with traditional games such as jump rope and “ô ăn quan”.

The sight of Singaporean students wearing traditional conical hats, enjoying Vietnamese dishes, and eagerly participating in traditional games left a lasting positive impression and helped share the richness of Vietnamese culture with friends from around the world.

Khám phá quốc đảo sư tử (Exploring the Lion City)
Không chỉ học tập tại Raffles, học sinh còn có cơ hội trải nghiệm vẻ đẹp hiện đại và đa văn hóa của Singapore. Đoàn đã ghé thăm Bird Paradise – công viên chim mới và độc đáo; khám phá những địa điểm nổi tiếng như Haji Lane, Little India, Chinatown, Gardens by the Bay và đặc biệt là Universal Studios Singapore – nơi ghi dấu những khoảnh khắc vui chơi đầy sôi động.
Beyond their studies at Raffles, the students had the chance to explore Singapore’s vibrant modernity and multicultural charm. The group visited Bird Paradise, a unique new bird park, and explored popular spots like Haji Lane, Little India, Chinatown, and Gardens by the Bay. A highlight was Universal Studios Singapore, where they enjoyed lively and unforgettable moments of fun.

Hành trình ẩm thực cũng là một trải nghiệm khó quên: từ những món ăn truyền thống như Laksa, cơm gà Hải Nam đến Satay và cua sốt ớt, tất cả đã giúp học sinh hiểu rõ hơn về văn hóa ẩm thực đặc trưng của quốc đảo sư tử.
The culinary journey was also an unforgettable experience: from traditional dishes such as Laksa, Hainanese chicken rice, to Satay and chili crab. Each dish offered students a deeper insight into the rich and distinctive food culture of the Lion City.

Tình bạn đẹp từ những hoạt động gắn kết (Beautiful friendships built through shared experiences)
Song song với việc học và khám phá, học sinh hai trường còn tham gia nhiều hoạt động giao lưu, từ trò chơi làm quen, thể thao, ăn tối cùng nhau đến các buổi đạp xe, dạo quanh Marina Bay hay cùng khám phá Sentosa. Mỗi khoảnh khắc đều là những mảnh ghép của một tình bạn chân thành, sâu sắc giữa học sinh Việt Nam và Singapore.
Alongside learning and exploration, students from both schools took part in a variety of bonding activities - from icebreaker games and sports, to sharing meals, cycling around Marina Bay, and discovering Sentosa island together. Each moment became a meaningful piece of a genuine, lasting friendship between Vietnamese and Singaporean students.

Một hành trình – nhiều giá trị (One journey - countless values)
Chuyến đi đã khép lại, nhưng những bài học, trải nghiệm và kỉ niệm đáng nhớ vẫn còn đọng lại trong trái tim của mỗi thành viên trong đoàn. Được học tập tại một trong những ngôi trường hàng đầu châu Á, kết nối với những người bạn mới và trưởng thành qua từng trải nghiệm thực tế là điều mà không giáo trình nào có thể mang lại.
Hơn cả một chuyến đi học tập, đây là hành trình trưởng thành – nơi học sinh Nguyễn Tất Thành hiểu hơn về thế giới, về bản thân, về sức mạnh của tri thức, lòng cởi mở và tình hữu nghị. Tập thể giáo viên, học sinh trường NTT xin gửi lời cảm ơn sâu sắc tới Raffles Institution vì đã cùng vun đắp nên mối quan hệ hợp tác bền chặt và đầy ý nghĩa.
The trip has come to an end, but the lessons learned, unforgettable experiences, and cherished memories remain in the hearts of every member of the delegation. Studying at one of Asia’s leading schools, forming meaningful connections, and engaging in hands-on experiences offered invaluable insights beyond what any textbook could teach.
More than just an educational trip, this was a journey of growth - a chance for Nguyễn Tất Thành students to better understand the world; discover more about themselves; and recognize the power of knowledge, open-mindedness, and friendship.
